DTM Lausitzring - 2021
Two runner-up positions in the two races at Lausitzring moved Liam closer to the lead of the DTM championship. With three podiums from the opening four races of the season, he now lies just 4-points adrift of leader Kelvin van der Linde (Audi).
From a 5th place qualifying in Race 1 Liam was shuffled down the order on the hectic opening lap but a lightning fast pit stop by his AF Corse team catapulted him into third place, before he pulled off a good passing maneuver to secure 2nd.
A final lap dash in qualifying for Race 2 secured a front row start in P2. With an aggressive move on the opening lap Liam took over the race lead but surrendered that when he stalled the car at the compulsory pit stop and exited effectively in third place.
He passed championship leader Kelvin van der Linde when his Audi’s engine -cut-out’ and then defended strongly over the last third of the race to secure 2nd.
