F2 ZANDVOORT - 2022
F2 raced at the Dutch circuit of Zandvoort for the first time in 2022. It was the first time Liam had raced at the seaside venue since he went there in February 2018 to test an F4 car with Van Amersfoort Racing.
From a P6 qualifying Liam moved up two spots in the Sprint race but a late Safety Car intervention ruined a potential podium in the Feature Race.
Just a handful of seconds away from entering the pits for his compulsory pit stop, Sato’s car lost a wheel and Liam was forced to stay out on track because for this race only, the pit lane remained closed during Safety Car periods.
Like those on the same strategy as Liam, this put them out of points-scoring potential. Liam took the chequered flag in 12th place.
